Essential Question: How do hurricanes form?

1. Warm Up: Finish Hurricanes-Heat Machines worksheet, question #6 (Venn Diagram)

2. Go to NASA SciJinks and read about how hurricanes form with your team. Follow the guidelines on the handout. (table on p. 8)

3. Ticket Out: On page 9 of your science notebook, write a short paragraph that summarizes what you have learned about hurricanes. 

Use the heading Hurricanes and answer these questions: 

• Where do hurricanes form? 
• What drives them (causes them to form and grow). 
• How do they move? 
• What happens when they go over land?
