Essential Question: How do hurricanes form?

1. Warm Up: Brain Pop Hurricanes 

2. Go to NASA SciJinks and finish the reading about how hurricanes form with your team. Follow the guidelines on the handout. (table on p. 8)

3. Ticket Out: On page 9 of your science notebook, write a short paragraph that summarizes what you have learned about hurricanes. 

Use the heading Hurricanes and answer these questions: 

• Where do hurricanes form? 
• What drives them (causes them to form and grow). 
• How do they move? 
• What happens when they go over land?
