Learning Goal (What will we know): I understand that Earth's biosphere is the part of our planet that supports life, and that living things are connected to all parts of Earth's system.
Relevance (Why do we need to know this?): An understanding of the connections between subsystems on Earth that we can see and understand will help us understand the connections between systems and subsystems that are new to us, and that we cannot easily see.
Success Criteria (What will we do to show that we have reached our learning goal?):
- Read and understand the Newsela article about the biosphere
- Correctly answer questions about the article
- Write a paragraph that describes the connections between biotic and abiotic parts of an ecosystem.
