Lakeview Bulletin
Learning Goal (What will we know): I can describe the structure and function of the main cell organelles, and can explain the differences between plant and animal cells.
Relevance (Why do we need to know this?): We need to know the basic characteristics of cells to understand how our body systems work.
Success Criteria (What will we do to show that we have reached our learning goal?):
- Read the "Eukaryotic Cells" section in the interactive reader
- Complete the Google Classroom Assignment: "Organelles Structure and Function"
*Self Evaluation and Goals
1. Q's of the Day: Look at your plant and animal cell drawings. What structures/organelles are found in both cell types? What structures/organelles are only found in plant cells?
2. Cell Structures and Functions
- Read pp. 12-16 of the interactive reader.
- Go to Google Classroom and open the "Organelles Structure and Function" Assignment, fill in the table for the "Nucleus", the "Cell Wall" and the "Cell Membrane"
3. Ticket Out: Draw a venn diagram that explains the similarities and differences between plant and animal cells.
